IDL Secures Insurance Payout for Staff — A Win for Staff Confidence

  • Published: 29 Sep 2026

This achievement traces back to the vision of IDL Management, which recognized the importance of safeguarding the welfare of its workforce. Through sustained stakeholder engagement and by navigating the various approval levels within the University, Management worked steadily to bring this vision to life. With the support of KEK Insurance Brokers Limited, the Institute successfully insured its workforce with Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance Ghana Limited, a milestone that now underpins the welfare benefits available to staff today.

The Institute is pleased to share encouraging news arising from this partnership. A recent claim valued at GHS20,000 has been successfully processed, thanks to strong collaboration between IDL management and the broker. Even though the incident for which the claim was filed fell just outside the insurance coverage window, KEK negotiated a goodwill payment demonstrating a clear sign of good faith in appointing a broker to handle our insurance portfolio.

Speaking on the successful claim, the Ashanti Regional Manager of KEK Insurance Brokers Limited, Mr. Stephen Tawiah, commented:

"This case is a good example of what a true partnership looks like. Our role goes beyond simply administering a policy — it's about standing with the institutions and people we serve. We were glad to work closely with IDL Management to ensure this claim was honored, and we remain committed to making sure every staff member understands and benefits fully from this cover."

For those who have wondered whether insurance really delivers when it counts, this outcome speaks for itself. To make claims simple, the broker has outlined clear documentation requirements and committed to a 10-working-day turnaround for processing claims, ensuring support is provided quickly and predictably when it is needed most.
